Tehran's gold market opened Wednesday, 5 August 2026 (14 Mordad 1405), with across the board gains, reversing the declines seen in the early hours of the same day. The Tehran mithqal rose by 425,164 toman to 79,750,000 toman.
A gram of 18 carat gold gained 98,137 toman to 18,410,400 toman, while 24 carat gold rose 130,611 toman to 24,544,000 toman. Over the same window, the Milli online melted gold trading platform quoted a gram of 18 carat gold at 18,383,000 toman.
The main driver was a jump in the global gold ounce, which traded in the $4,164 to $4,168 range the same day after rising about $94. Iran's domestic gold market is typically driven by both the global ounce and the exchange rate.
