Global gold prices extended their rally on Wednesday, 5 August 2026 (14 Mordad 1405), posting a third consecutive daily gain. According to live data as of 09:56 Tehran time, the gold ounce rose $94.15, or 2.31 percent, to $4,173.53, with the session low recorded at $4,067.24. Silver also gained 3.24 percent to $61.51 an ounce.
A weaker dollar and falling oil prices have created a supportive backdrop for gold trading. Over the same window the dollar index was down 0.15 percent at 99.78, while Brent crude traded 0.60 percent lower at $78.91.
Investors are simultaneously tracking reports on negotiations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Easing inflation concerns along that path could lower the likelihood of a near term Federal Reserve interest rate increase.
