5 August 2026 | 3 months ago

Gold prices in the Tehran market rose on Wednesday, 5 August 2026 (14 Mordad 1405). A gram of 18 carat gold reached 18,479,700 tomans and a gram of 24 carat gold reached 24,637,000 tomans. The mesghal of gold passed the 80 million toman mark, quoted at 80,050,000 tomans. Second hand gold traded at 18,086,000 tomans the same day.

The main driver was the global market. The gold ounce stood at around $4,162 on Wednesday, compared with a close of $4,064 on the previous trading day, Monday 12 Mordad, a gain of nearly $99. Sahmino's own price data recorded the ounce at $4,157 as of 13:22 on Wednesday, up about 2 percent.

The coin market was calmer. The Emami coin traded at around 185 million tomans on Wednesday and the Bahar Azadi coin at 181 million tomans. The half coin was quoted at 94,500,000 tomans, the quarter coin at 52,500,000 tomans and the gram coin at 27,000,000 tomans. Gold and the currency market diverged that day because the rise in the global ounce offset the fall in the free market dollar rate.
