Tehran Stock Exchange Falls Below 6.5 Million Index Mark Amid Military Tension

Tehran's main stock index (TEDPIX) slid below the 6.5 million mark for the first time in three trading sessions on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Per Sahmino's own data as of 11:29 Tehran time, TEDPIX fell 87,060 points (1.32 percent) to 6,496,872; Donya-e-Eqtesad reported an intraday low near 6,432,000. As of 11:08, sell-queue value (11,529 billion tomans across 334 symbols) exceeded buy-queue value (9,480 billion tomans across 138 symbols). The Farabourse index also fell, down 631 points (1.23 percent) to 50,745. The drop coincided with intensifying Iran-US military tension and a simultaneous jump in the free-market dollar rate.
