2 September 2026 · last month

The Securities and Exchange Organization's office for supervising industrial and mining issuers said on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (11 Shahrivar 1405), according to Boursenews, that it sent a letter to the CEO of one of Iran's major automakers stressing the need for Iran Khodro and Saipa to speed up resolving and divesting their cross held (todeli) shares in each other.

Jafar Soltani, head of the office, cited in his letter directive No. 59207 dated 25 August 2026 (3 Shahrivar 1405) from the president's first deputy addressed to Iran Khodro and Saipa, as well as letter No. 2/67806 dated 21 July 2026 (30 Tir 1405) from the minister of economic affairs and finance. Per the economy minister's letter, the list of shares that must be divested under clause 2 of item "b" of Article 5 of the seventh development plan law has been communicated to the two automakers. The Securities and Exchange Organization described the move as a step toward resolving intra group ownership and reducing the cross shareholding structure in the auto industry.
