13 July 2026 · 3 months ago
The Tehran Stock Exchange's main index (TEDPIX) fell for a third straight trading session on Monday, July 13, 2026, dropping about 89,000 points (1.79 percent) to around 4,967,000 and slipping below the psychological 5 million point level. The equal weighted index fell 0.88 percent and the Iran Farabourse index lost 1.43 percent.
The decline extended losses from Saturday and Sunday; on Sunday, July 12, the main index had shed about 126,000 points to roughly 5,050,000. Market participants cite the escalation of regional military tensions and uncertainty over the status of the Strait of Hormuz as the main drivers of selling pressure and the outflow of retail money from equities.
