Tehran Stock Exchange's main index (TEDPIX) fell about 104,000 points, or 2.01 percent, on Saturday, July 11, 2026 (20 Tir 1405), closing near 5,182,622 points. The session opened under heavy selling pressure, with the index down 107,284 points to 5,179,571 as of 10:03 am Tehran time. The equal weighted index also slipped into the 1,365,000 point range. According to Fararu, capital market analysts attributed today's selling pressure mainly to profit taking, as shareholders increased supply following the index's recent gains in prior sessions, a move that coincided with volatility tied to diplomatic developments over the Strait of Hormuz.
