According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, Tehran's main stock index (TEDPIX) crossed 7.9 million points within minutes of opening on Saturday, October 3, 2026 (Mehr 11, 1405), nearing a fresh record, before heavy selling reversed the move and pulled it back to around 7,789,000 points by midday. Sahmino's own live data recorded the index near the same level at that hour, up about 0.25 percent from Wednesday September 30's close of 7,766,537.65 points. At the same time, retail investors withdrew more than 3.8 trillion tomans from the stock market, with a similar amount pulled from fixed income funds, a shift Donya-e-Eqtesad said may signal money moving toward gold funds. Automakers, construction and metal ore mining stocks drew fresh retail buying, while some refining stocks slipped back into negative territory.
