The price of Iran's new-design Emami gold coin reached 195,500,000 tomans in Tehran's free market on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (28 Mordad 1405). According to price tracker AlanChand, that is up 3,500,000 tomans, or 1.82 percent, from yesterday's 192,000,000 tomans. Based on the coin's intrinsic gold value (calculated from a $4,363 global ounce and a 189,900-toman free-market dollar), its premium stood at only about 0.46 percent at that hour.

Separately, Donya-e-Eqtesad reported that Tehran Stock Exchange gold funds drew roughly 23,200 billion tomans in net retail inflows by 14:30 Wednesday, a sign of growing small-investor appetite for gold-linked assets as the benchmark index approaches the 6-million-point mark.
