Tehran's free-market US dollar rate crossed into the 189,000-toman channel on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (28 Mordad 1405). According to price tracker AlanChand, the dollar reached 189,900 tomans in the 15:45 Tehran time update, up 1,700 tomans, or 0.90 percent, from yesterday's 188,200 tomans. The currency's 24-hour range was between 186,500 and 189,900 tomans, and it is up about 1.44 percent from a week earlier.
