26 July 2026 | 3 months ago

Tehran Stock Exchange's main index extended its gains during Sunday's session on 26 July 2026. As of 11:49 Tehran time, the index stood at 4,998,143 points, up 103,690 points or 2.12 percent, leaving it about 1,857 points below the psychological 5 million mark.

The index had closed Saturday, 25 July, at 4,894,453 points after a modest 0.21 percent rise. On that basis, today's move is the largest single-day gain since 18 July 2026, when the index rose 2.44 percent. The Iran Farabourse index also advanced in the same session, standing at 39,783 points as of 11:28, up 1.97 percent.

The gain came in a session where parallel markets moved the other way: the free-market dollar retreated to 187,000 tomans and the Emami coin to 180 million tomans. Equities rising while the currency and coin fall is generally read as a rotation of part of the market's liquidity out of safe-haven assets and into shares. The figures above are from the middle of the trading session; Tehran's official session ends at 12:30 and the closing figure may differ.
