The Tehran Stock Exchange's main index closed trading on Sunday, 26 July 2026 (4 Mordad 1405), up more than 107,000 points, rising from 4,894,000 to about 5,002,000 and returning to the 5 million channel after nine trading days below it.
According to Tejarat News, about 90 percent of tickers closed in positive territory and more than 6,100 billion tomans of retail money flowed into the equity market, making it one of the market's strongest days in recent weeks. According to Eghtesad Online, the index was up about 82,000 points before the Bank Mellat ticker reopened, with that reopening accounting for a further part of the day's gain.
Market reports pointed to easing military tensions and the fall in the dollar rate as the main drivers of the wave of demand. On Sahmino's price board, the open-market dollar stood around 188,000 tomans as of 13:30 on Sunday, 4 Mordad, down about 0.9 percent from the previous day.
