8 August 2026 | 2 months ago

Tehran's TEDPIX benchmark index rose 2.08 percent, or 112,439 points, to close at 5,520,341 on Saturday, 17 Mordad 1405 (August 8, 2026), crossing 5.5 million points for the first time in its history. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad and Ecoiran, it was the index's third straight session with a gain of more than 2 percent. The equal weight index rose 2.54 percent, or about 39,000 points, to 1,573,596.

Ecoiran reported that 98 percent of listed symbols closed higher and only 2 percent traded lower, with Femeli (National Iranian Copper Industries) and Shepna (Esfahan Oil Refining) contributing the most to the index gain. Total trading value for the day reached about 20 trillion tomans, and retail investors added more than 8 trillion tomans, concentrated mostly in Foolad Mobarakeh, Shasta and Bank Tejarat.

Another notable development in Saturday's session was the reopening of the Foolad Mobarakeh Isfahan symbol after months of suspension; it resumed trading without a price band limit, using an opening auction mechanism.
