Tehran's TEDPIX benchmark index crossed 5.4 million points for the first time on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 (14 Mordad 1405), climbing more than 130,000 points to close around 5.408 million, according to Donya-e-Eqtesad and Eghtesad Online. The equal weighted index also hit its own historic high, and more than 12 trillion tomans in fresh capital flowed into the stock market over just two trading days.
Ecoiran reported the record followed the index clearing its previous mid-June ceiling after an approximately 11 percent correction in recent weeks. The rally coincided with the free market dollar rate retreating and rising hopes over Iran Oman talks on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
