Iran's Trade Promotion Organization told Iran's customs administration in a letter that, following a decision at the 19 September 2026 (28 Shahrivar 1405) meeting of the Article 12 working group under the law on organizing border trade, there is no restriction on brand or country of origin for South Korean home appliances imported by border residents. The letter cites letter No. 8732836 dated 20 September (29 Shahrivar) and asks customs to notify its operational offices. Mehr News Agency published the text on Saturday, 26 September 2026 (4 Mehr 1405).

The decision allows home appliances from Korean brands such as Samsung and LG to enter through border trade and border residents' cooperatives. It covers only that border-trade channel and does not address general formal imports of these brands.
