According to Oilprice.com, citing Bashkortostan republic governor Radiy Khabirov, a Ukrainian drone attack overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, 27 to 28 Mordad 1405 (August 18 to 19, 2026), struck one of the refineries in the city of Ufa and sparked a small fire, with the extent of damage still being assessed.
The refineries, three units in total around Ufa, belong to Bashneft, a unit of Russia's largest oil company Rosneft, and local officials said repairs are expected within a few days. Citing Bloomberg, Oilprice.com reported Ukraine has for months targeted Russian refineries in near nightly drone attacks to weaken the country's fuel supply. Russia's diesel and gasoline exports fell to just 80,000 barrels per day in the first seven days of August, the lowest level in several years.
