US Embassy in Bahrain Warns Citizens of Possible Flight Cancellations, Regional Airspace Closures

The US Embassy in Bahrain issued an urgent security alert on Saturday, September 5, 2026 (14 Shahrivar 1405), warning American citizens in the Middle East of possible flight cancellations and regional airspace closures. According to Ecoiran, the warning came as military tensions between Iran and the United States escalated in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

The alert was issued on the same day CENTCOM said American forces struck three Iranian oil tankers in response to what it described as Iranian Revolutionary Guard missile fire at a US aircraft carrier and a guided missile destroyer.
