US June inflation data is released today, Tuesday; forecasts point to the annual rate easing to about 3.8 percent

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics releases the June Consumer Price Index (CPI) today, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time (about 17:00 Tehran time). Surveys expect the headline annual inflation rate to ease from 4.2 percent in the May reading to about 3.8 percent, with monthly inflation at around minus 0.1 percent, driven mainly by a drop in gasoline prices. Core inflation (excluding food and energy) is forecast at about 2.9 percent.
The recent jump in oil prices amid US-Iran tensions has raised the risk of inflation staying higher for longer. The reading is pivotal for the Federal Reserve's interest-rate path and, through the strength of the dollar and the global gold price, feeds into Iran's gold and currency markets.
