US Strikes Iran for Sixth Straight Night; Infrastructure Hit and at Least 7 Reported Killed
17 July 2026 | 3 months ago
US forces struck targets across southern and western Iran early on Friday, 17 July 2026, for a sixth consecutive night. According to reports, the damaged infrastructure included an airport, several bridges and a railway station, and Iranian state media said at least 7 people were killed and about 20 wounded (some reports put the death toll at 8).
Tehran warned that the war would spread if the strikes continued. The attacks are part of the wider US-Iran confrontation over the Strait of Hormuz and the naval blockade of Iranian ports, and have kept pressure on global oil and gold markets.
