Value of Iran's stock markets tops 20,000 trillion tomans for the first time in history

The combined value of Iran's stock markets, including the Tehran Stock Exchange, Farabourse and the base market, crossed 20,000 trillion tomans for the first time in the history of Iran's exchange at the close of trading on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 (27 Mordad 1405), reaching about 20,041 trillion tomans. According to Bourse News, of that total, the Tehran Stock Exchange accounted for about 16,980 trillion tomans and Farabourse together with the base market for about 3,061 trillion tomans.
The milestone came alongside a 12th consecutive day of gains for Tehran's main index and a pickup in trading activity in recent weeks.
