DJBR (Jaber Ebne Hayyan Pharmaceutical), traded on the Tehran Stock Exchange, opened 14.53% above the previous session's close on Monday, August 24, 2026, and closed the session at 44,340 rials, its 10th consecutive higher close and its highest level in a year. Trading volume reached 142,704,227 shares, 17.8 times the stock's 20-session average, and turnover topped 632 billion tomans, placing DJBR among the exchange's most heavily traded names on the day.

Background

The rally did not appear out of nowhere. DJBR, which had traded as low as about 6,898 rials over the past year, is up 85.91% over the past month, 401.58% over the past three months and 498.22% over the past year. Its 20-day moving average sits near 31,909 rials and its 50-day average near 22,823 rials, meaning today's close stands roughly 39% and 94% above those two averages respectively. The ten-session run began around August 11, 2026, the exact day a codal.ir disclosure shows the company's major-shareholder register was overhauled.

The numbers

  • Today's close (Aug 24, 2026): 44,340 rials, a 52-week high (source: Tehran Stock Exchange trading floor)
  • Yesterday's close: 39,290 rials; today's open: 45,000 rials (14.53% gap up)
  • Today's trading range: 43,650 to 46,350 rials
  • Volume: 142,704,227 shares, 17.8 times the 20-session average of about 8 million shares
  • Turnover: about 632.7 billion tomans; 14,453 trades
  • Market capitalization at today's close: roughly 10,058 billion tomans (based on 2,268,000,000 shares outstanding)

These figures come from the Tehran Stock Exchange's own trading data (via the Codal disclosure system and the exchange's technology management company) and Sahmino's own trading board at the close of today's session.

Drivers

Two separate but coincident drivers sit behind the move.

First, a major ownership shakeup: according to specialist outlet Petrochemiha, citing a disclosure filed on Codal (Iran's official filing system), a block trade of 376,115,178 shares (16.58% of DJBR's total shares), worth 15,875,822 million rials (about 1,588 billion tomans), took place on August 11, 2026. The seller was the Bank Employees' Pension Fund (a public joint-stock institution), which had held 16.58% of DJBR before the trade; after fully divesting the block, its stake fell to zero and it dropped off the major-shareholder list. The buyer was National Investment Company of Iran, ticker NIKI, which held no prior stake in DJBR and is now a new major shareholder alongside Shafa Daro Investment Company (the controlling holder, at 60.77%), a lineup Sahmino's own ownership register, current as of August 23, 2026, confirms under the same two names.

Second, an operating-profit surge: the unaudited interim financial statements for the six months ended June 21, 2026, filed on Codal on July 19, 2026, show operating revenue of 22,460,795 million rials (up 235% from 6,697,062 million rials in the same period a year earlier) and net profit of 9,881,141 million rials (up 454% from 1,782,770 million rials); earnings per share from continuing operations rose from 786 rials to 4,357 rials. On Sahmino's trailing-twelve-month data, the company's net margin now stands at 30.04% and its return on equity at 50.2%, with a P/E ratio of 10.56, below what its recent profit growth might imply. The same pattern, a six-month profit jump landing alongside a buy queue, has shown up before in other pharmaceutical tickers such as Dabid and Razak, though DJBR's rally is unusual in coinciding with a major-shareholder shakeup that neither of those two saw.

Outlook

Where this goes next hinges on two things neither party has formally disclosed: whether NIKI's purchase is a long-term strategic stake or simple portfolio reallocation by an investment fund, and whether the 235% to 454% profit growth repeats in the second half of the fiscal year. By Sahmino's own composite ranking, DJBR scores 60 out of 100 and ranks 15th among the 63 names in the "pharmaceutical materials and products" sector, with an 88th percentile growth reading both within its sector and across the whole market. These scores and percentiles are Sahmino's own analytics, not figures the exchange itself publishes. Until the company or NIKI discloses more about the rationale behind the purchase, any forecast about whether the rally continues remains an estimate, not an established fact.

Bottom line

DJBR today, 13 days after the Bank Employees' Pension Fund fully exited and NIKI entered with a 16.58% stake, posted its 10th consecutive higher close on volume nearly 18 times its average, hitting a 52-week high. The key point is that this ownership shakeup coincided with a report showing 235% revenue growth and 454% profit growth over six months, meaning the market reacted to a structural story and a fundamentals story at the same time. Until either side of the trade clarifies its plans for the stock, that coincidence remains the single biggest open question around DJBR.

What to watch

Three things worth tracking in the days ahead: any disclosure of NIKI's plans for its newly acquired stake, DJBR's monthly activity report for the month ending in late September, and whether today's buying queue holds up in coming sessions or gets absorbed by smaller retail sellers.
