The domestic decline came even as the global gold price rose 11 dollars from the previous day to trade near 4,355 dollars an ounce at the same hour; Sahmino's own live data put the global ounce at 4,356.65 dollars, up 0.3 percent, as of 7:59am the same day. The divergence between the falling domestic price and the rising global ounce may reflect movement in the reference exchange rate used to price gold in the Tehran market.
