Arvandan Shipbuilding Launches the 800-Tonne Vessel Hootan 1 in Khorramshahr

Seyed Mohammadreza Mavalizadeh, governor of Khuzestan province, said at a launch ceremony in Khorramshahr on Monday, 28 September 2026 (6 Mehr 1405) that the vessel Hootan 1, with a capacity of 800 tonnes, had been built in 20 months at the Arvandan shipyard. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare and Khorramshahr's member of parliament.

According to the governor, the Arvandan shipyard was hit by projectiles several times during the war, but construction continued. He described the project as a sign of the province's shipbuilding capability and said he hoped the industry would expand in the region with government support.
