Central Bank governor says monthly inflation in Tir fell 50 percent from Khordad
27 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The governor of Iran's Central Bank said on Monday 27 July 2026 that the monthly inflation rate in Tir fell 50 percent compared with Khordad. The remark was made on Monday evening, after opening months of the Iranian year marked by numerous economic and security developments.
Monthly inflation is a different measure from year-on-year inflation: it tracks only the change in the general price level over one month relative to the month before, so a decline does not mean prices fell, but that the pace of monthly price growth slowed. According to a report published earlier the same day, year-on-year inflation for the food group had reached 133.9 percent.
The Central Bank did not publish the underlying monthly figures for Tir and Khordad alongside the statement.
