Central bank governor Hemmati says monthly inflation in Tir was roughly halved from Khordad
28 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Abdolnasser Hemmati, governor of the Central Bank of Iran, said the monthly inflation rate in Tir 1405 was roughly half that of Khordad. He attributed the decline to recent measures by the monetary policymaker to control inflation. The remarks were carried by Iranian economic media on 5 and 6 Mordad 1405 (27 and 28 July 2026).
Monthly inflation measures the change in the general price level in one month against the month before it and, unlike annual inflation, responds more quickly to shifts in monetary policy. A fall in one month does not mean the inflationary trend has ended, but it does indicate a shallower slope in price growth for that month.
The central bank publishes official inflation data monthly. Sahmino will cover the detailed Tir inflation figures once they are officially released and confirmed.
