Customs Pilots Coordinated Border Management at Dogharoun

Iran's Customs Administration has put a pilot of "coordinated border management" (CBM) on its agenda at the Dogharoun border crossing. According to Mehr News Agency, in a report published on Monday, 6 Mehr 1405 (September 28, 2026), the model logs each truck's time from entering the border until leaving it and times the procedures of every agency involved, to pinpoint where goods are held up, from customs and standards to quarantine and veterinary checks. The report says close to 60 agencies are involved in moving goods in and out through the country's trade borders.
Customs chief Forud Asgari has said traders' capital should not sit idle in border queues and that easing border procedures has become a mega-project at the Economy Ministry. Removing duplicated checks at the border, shifting part of the controls to inland customs, allowing goods to be declared before they reach the border, and risk assessment to route shipments of compliant traders onto fast lanes are the plan's main pillars.
