Meydari added that despite war damage to some of Khuzestan's industrial infrastructure, measures by the provincial governor and cooperation with industry managers prevented large-scale layoffs and brought damaged units back into operation. Visiting workers injured in the recent incident at the Abadan refinery at Taleghani Hospital in Ahvaz, he described their general condition as satisfactory and said refinery officials had pledged to address the workers' contract concerns.
The minister also said the transfer of bank accounts of the ministry's petrochemical subsidiaries into Khuzestan province is under way in cooperation with the central bank.
