Economy Ministry Reports Stable Average Employment at Firms With Job-Retention Loans
Sahmino Newsroom | 6 November 2026 | yesterday
Morteza Zamanian, the Economy Ministry's deputy for economic policy, said in a television interview on Friday, November 6, 2026, that about 9,000 firms have used job-retention loans financed from the Progress and Justice Account. He said the latest Social Security Organization data show no average fall in employment or layoffs at those firms, while many other businesses cut staff under wartime pressure. The detailed data were not published with the report. Zamanian added that the tax authority has finalized 12 trillion tomans of tax installment plans and allocated 12 trillion tomans of tax credits to compensate damaged knowledge-based entities. Eligible taxpayers may pay their tax to the affected entities instead of the tax authority, and four universities are covered so far.
