Energy Minister: No General Electricity Price Hike Planned, Heavy Fines for High Consumption Users

Iran's energy minister said on Sunday, October 4, 2026 (12 Mehr 1405), that no plan for a general increase in electricity prices is on the agenda. According to Mehr News Agency, he added that, in line with fairness and support for lower income groups, heavy fines have been set for high consumption electricity users.
