5 October 2026 · 2 days ago
The UK Maritime Trade Operations body (UKMTO) said on Monday, October 5, 2026 (13 Mehr 1405) that it had received a delayed report of a fresh incident in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the report, carried by ISNA, a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier heading into the Strait of Hormuz was struck by a projectile. UKMTO also reported a missile attack on another tanker in the same area.

Earlier the same day, UKMTO had reported that a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz had been attacked, part of an earlier bulletin describing four tankers targeted over 48 hours. These incidents extend a series of attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz in recent weeks amid escalating tension between Iran and the United States, a pattern that has sharply driven up war risk insurance costs for vessels on this route.
