Proposed Guaranteed Wheat Purchase Price for Next Crop Year Put at Average 85,000 Tomans

Mohammad Javad Askari, head of the Iranian parliament's agriculture, water, natural resources and environment committee, said on Monday, October 5, 2026 (13 Mehr 1405), that the current proposal from members of the council that sets prices for staple agricultural goods puts the guaranteed wheat purchase price for the next crop year at an average of 85,000 tomans. According to Tasnim, carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad, he stressed the figure is still under review in parliament's agriculture committee and has not been finalized. The guaranteed wheat purchase price for the current crop year (1404 to 1405) was set at an average of 49,550 tomans.
