Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, the Energy Ministry's deputy for electricity and energy, announced a new directive to support Iran's industrial sector, Mehr News Agency reported on Thursday, October 1, 2026 (9 Mehr 1405). Under the decision, industrial subscribers with demand contracts who have no overdue debt as of the end of Shahrivar 1405 (September 22) can draw power beyond their contracted capacity between 10pm and 10am the next day without incurring the standard power overdraw penalty. He described the move as a step to cut production costs and sustain output at large industries amid the country's current energy imbalance.
