Free-Market Dollar Climbs Past 203,000 Tomans to a Fresh Record

Iran's free-market dollar rate rose on Monday, August 24, 2026 (2 Shahrivar 1405). According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, the rate stood at 201,640 tomans as of 11:30 local time, with the upward move continuing through the day.
Live data from Alanchand.com showed the dollar trading as high as 203,700 tomans by the late afternoon, up about 3,200 tomans, or 1.6 percent, from yesterday's rate of 200,500 tomans, a fresh record for the free market. Gold and coin prices tracked the dollar's rise on the same day.
