Free-market dollar retreats into the 185,000-toman channel on Sunday as the halt in US strikes deepens selling pressure

The free-market dollar extended its decline on Sunday 26 July 2026, the first trading day of the Iranian week, retreating into the 185,000-toman channel. Tejarat News attributed the heavier selling pressure in the currency market to the halt in US military strikes on Iran and to rising hopes that consultations will continue.
Sahmino's own price feed recorded the dollar at 185,805 tomans by the evening of Sunday 26 July, down 2.1 percent on the day. It is the third consecutive session of decline and came alongside falls in domestic gold and coin prices.
The outlet said traders are still waiting for firm political signals, leaving the currency market's path tied to the outcome of the consultations.
