Gold and coin gain on Sunday: 18-karat gold nears 17.64 million tomans, Emami coin around 178 million

Iran's domestic gold and coin market rose on Sunday, 12 July 2026. Each gram of 18-karat gold gained about 0.9% to nearly 17.64 million tomans, while the Emami coin climbed about 1.4% (roughly 2.5 million tomans) to around 178.5 million tomans.
The Emami coin's premium (hobab) jumped sharply on Sunday to about 4.4 million tomans, a sign that coin demand is outrunning the intrinsic value of its gold content. A global gold price near 4,100 dollars an ounce (Friday's close), alongside rising official remittance rates, was cited as a driver of the domestic move.
