Iran's domestic gold and coin market extended its gains through the middle of the day on Wednesday 29 July 2026 (7 Mordad 1405). As of 13:29 Tehran time, a gram of 18 carat gold was up 1.96 percent from the previous day at 18,700,100 tomans, having traded at around 18,292,000 tomans in the early hours of the same day.
At the same time the Emami coin was up 1.89 percent at 187,480,000 tomans and the Bahar Azadi coin up 2.07 percent at 183,790,000 tomans. The free market dollar stood at 193,000 tomans at that point, 1.47 percent above the previous day.
Gold on the global market was changing hands at 4,033 dollars an ounce at the same hour, a move of 0.14 percent, so the rise in rial gold and coin prices on the day moved largely in step with the domestic exchange rate. Global markets are awaiting the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision on the evening of Wednesday 29 July.
