The Emami gold coin, which traded around 216 million tomans early Monday morning (per Donya-e-Eqtesad, reported at 8:16 a.m.), climbed later in the day to a high of 2,204,700,000 rials (about 220.47 million tomans), up roughly 43,350,000 rials, or nearly 2 percent, from the previous day, a move independently confirmed by the tgju.org price tracker.
A gram of 18-karat gold hit a day high of 224,856,000 rials (about 22.49 million tomans) on the same tracker, up roughly 5,259,000 rials, or 2.4 percent, from the prior day. The rally came alongside a rising free-market dollar rate on the same day.
