Ecoiran, citing rates announced by the Tehran Gold and Jewellery Union in a report timed 06:34 on the morning of Monday, 24 August 2026 (2 Shahrivar 1405), put one gram of 18 karat gold at 21,711,600 tomans, 24 karat gold at 28,945,000 tomans and the Tehran mithqal at 94,050,000 tomans. The same report listed the new design coin at 216,000,000 tomans, the old design coin at 214,500,000 tomans, the half coin at 111,500,000 tomans and the quarter coin at 59,500,000 tomans.
Tgju.org recorded the gram of 18 karat gold at 217,464,000 rials the same morning, and put that 12.65 percent, or 24,424,000 rials, above the 193,040,000 rials recorded on Tuesday, 18 August 2026 (27 Mordad 1405). The session high that morning was 221,626,000 rials.
The rial price of domestic gold is the product of two variables: the global ounce and the free market dollar rate. Both rose over the past week, and that simultaneous move explains the pace of the domestic increase.
