Iran's government spokesperson on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, denied any increase in gasoline prices, saying the fuel quota system's rates of 1,500 and 3,000 tomans per liter remain unchanged. The statement responded to recent speculation about an imminent change to the pricing mechanism. The government has previously denied similar price hike rumors, though the 3,000-toman quota, which started at 100 liters, was cut to 70 liters during the war period and later to 50 liters.
