Abdolnaser Hemmati, governor of the Central Bank of Iran, said today, Wednesday, 15 Mehr 1405 (October 7, 2026), that the country's point-to-point money supply (liquidity) growth in the first half of the current Iranian year has moved away from its earlier peak and reached 51 percent. According to Mehr News Agency, he made the remarks while speaking with reporters. Money supply growth is one of the key drivers of inflation in Iran's economy, and its relative decline from the previous peak could signal an easing in the pace of money creation.
