The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) has published a document containing an email of apology from the owners of a ship over an unauthorized transit of the Strait of Hormuz. According to ISNA, reporting early on Sunday, September 27, 2026, the owners wrote that the violation was neither ordered by the owner nor caused by the master's negligence, but resulted from direct instructions by the charterer, who told the master to cross immediately without completing the declaration, approval and transit formalities required under PGSA rules.

In the letter, the owners recognize PGSA's jurisdiction over the waters of the Strait of Hormuz and its traffic control rules, and ask that the vessel be removed from the authority's Non-Compliance List. The published document does not name the ship or its flag. The authority had earlier warned shipowners about the conduct of some charterers.
