Kambiz Nazerian, chief executive of the Greater Tehran Electricity Distribution Company, said on Sunday, 27 September 2026 (5 Mehr 1405) that 75 percent of Tehran's electricity customers kept their use within the consumption benchmark at the peak of summer heat, 5 percentage points more than last year. He said the higher share is equivalent to the electricity use of about 180,000 households.
Nazerian also said more than 900 cryptocurrency mining devices have been identified and seized in Tehran this year, and that a smart motorcycle service fleet will start work in the second half of Mehr (mid-October) to cut service times by up to 50 percent. More than 70 power-industry services are now offered online, he added.
