Iran Mercantile Exchange logs record 2,100 kg of silver bullion into its vault in one day
1 August 2026 | 3 months ago
The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) said on Saturday 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad 1405) that 2,100 kg of silver bullion entered its vault in a single day, breaking the previous record of 2,000 kg set on 23 May 2026 (2 Khordad 1405).
According to the exchange's official news service, the inflow reflects growing liquidity in the silver deposit certificate market. The certificate mechanism lets investors hold silver without transporting or physically storing the metal and without the associated security risks, while the exchange guarantees the authenticity and quality of the bars.
The IME vault holds the physical backing behind the deposit certificates, so the volume of bullion entering it determines how much tradable supply the market carries.
