According to Statistical Center of Iran data reported by Donya-e-Eqtesad on Thursday, September 10, 2026 (19 Shahrivar 1405), the consumer price index rose 3.4 percent in Mordad from Tir. Point-to-point inflation reached 89 percent in Mordad, and annual inflation through Mordad reached 69.9 percent. Point-to-point inflation for the food and beverage group hit 127.5 percent in the same month, meaning households paid on average 127.5 percent more for a similar basket of these items than a year earlier.
Iran's Supreme Labor Council put a fresh review of 1405 wages on its agenda in Mordad, and agreed to form a wage committee to recalculate the household living basket, a step envisioned in the decree that set this year's 60 percent minimum wage increase, which brought the monthly minimum wage to about 16,625,000 tomans. Labor Minister Ahmad Meidari said the 60 percent wage increase has not fully offset inflation driven cost of living pressures, but stressed that no new percentage or figure for a wage increase from Mehr has yet been approved.
