Iran's car market stays in a trading lull on Sunday with limited and scattered price moves

26 July 2026 | 3 months ago

A review of Iran's car market on Sunday, 26 July 2026, shows that a trading lull continues to hang over the market, with price moves remaining limited and scattered, a trend described overall as downward.

According to Sahmino's car price board on the same day, the model-year 1405 Iran Khodro Tara automatic V4 is recorded at 2.65 billion tomans and the 1405 Tara manual V1 Plus at 2.05 billion tomans. Among Saipa models, the 1405 Shahin Plus automatic stands at 2.65 billion tomans, the Shahin G manual at 2 billion tomans and the Shahin GL manual at 1.87 billion tomans. These rates refer to specific trims and model years, and comparisons with dealer quotes should account for differences in trim and the time of quotation.

The persistence of the lull comes on days when parallel markets have retreated: the free-market dollar reached 187,000 tomans and the Emami coin 180 million tomans the same day. Subdued car trading alongside a cheaper currency is generally read as a sign of weak household purchasing power and of buyers waiting for rates to settle.
