Zabihollah Salmani, deputy for human capital at Iran's State Administration and Employment Organization, said at a press conference on Saturday, August 15, 2026 (24 Mordad 1405) that the floor for government employee salaries this year has been set at 18,700,000 tomans and the ceiling at 130,000,000 tomans. According to Ecoiran, citing ISNA, and carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad, he said converting about 700,000 contract workers to direct government employment is not currently possible because it would conflict with the Civil Service Management Law and the Seventh Development Plan.
Salmani added that going forward, contract workers' salaries and insurance contributions will be paid directly by the government rather than through contracting firms, to prevent payment delays and gaps in their insurance records; he said implementing this mechanism will take about two months.
