Iran's National Housing Fund allocates 20 trillion rials in temporary housing deposit loans for war-affected households

The head of Iran's National Housing Fund said on Monday, August 3, 2026, that 10 trillion rials of the fund's resources have been paid to Bank Maskan so that, with a 50 percent contribution from the bank, a total of 20 trillion rials in interest-free temporary housing deposit loans can be paid to applicants identified by the Housing Foundation and referred to the banking network.
Khosro Mokhtari said 3,125 applications have been referred to Bank Maskan so far, of which 1,671 billion tomans has been paid from the resources of the National Housing Fund and Bank Maskan, with the remainder being processed. A further 3 trillion rials in repair facilities has been provided to the Housing Foundation of the Islamic Revolution on an interim basis.
Loan ceilings are set according to a population model: 3 billion rials in rural areas, 4 billion rials in towns with fewer than 25,000 residents, 6 billion rials in towns above 25,000 residents, and up to 7 billion rials in provincial capitals, excluding metropolitan areas of more than one million people, where municipalities are responsible for temporary housing.
