25 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Farzaneh Ansari, head of the Iranian National Standards Organization, announced on Saturday 25 July 2026 (3 Mordad 1405) that a directive easing conformity assessment procedures for imported goods has been sent to the provincial standards offices and is being followed up closely. She said the measures were taken in line with decisions by the competent authorities, crisis management mechanisms and the exports and imports working group, with the aim of preventing goods from piling up at entry points.
Ansari said the steps are intended to secure a continuous and stable supply of goods the public needs and to improve the efficiency of the country's supply chain, and that document review, inspections and testing of imported consignments must be carried out without interruption and in the shortest possible time, so that the flow of essential goods speeds up while quality, safety and health requirements are fully preserved.
She emphasised active supervision of how the approach is implemented nationwide, adding that any obstacle or bottleneck in the path of easing conformity assessment and customs clearance must be identified as quickly as possible and removed immediately.
