Mohsen Tarzatalab, head of Iran's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), sent the head of grid operator Tavanir a letter setting out priorities and steps to connect renewable projects to the grid. Mehr News Agency reported on Sunday, October 18, 2026 (26 Mehr 1405), that the roadmap concerns priority projects of up to 12,000 MW and planning for 6,000 MW of new plant construction. Tarzatalab called for rapid review of projects lacking grid-connection permits. These are planned capacities, not proof that the plants have connected or are generating power now.
