Maximum temperatures over the two days are forecast at 44 and 46 degrees at the Khosravi crossing, 46 and 47 degrees at Chazabeh, and 45 and 47 degrees at Shalamcheh. Bashmaq, with a maximum of 40 degrees, and Tamarchin, at 36 and 38 degrees, are the coolest crossings listed.
In Iraq, Karbala is forecast to see strong winds and dust on Monday with a high of 43 degrees, rising to 45 degrees on Tuesday, while Najaf is reported to face strong winds and dust on Monday with a high of 43 degrees. The forecast comes as registrations of Arbaeen pilgrims have passed 2 million and traffic on routes leading to the border crossings has been reported heavy.
